New year New You

It is the first day of the 2019! 🎉

I don’t know about you but I believe everyone loves new beginnings, fresh starts, & a chance to do things better than the last year. Who is with me?

Who has taken a moment to get quiet and to clearly write out your goals for 2019? What are they?

Here are some tips with setting your goals & starting your 2019 strong.

1. Get quite & write out your thoughts.

Before I start a new year what I like to do is just get a plain sheet of paper in a spiral; I write out a few words that God has placed on my heart. Then I create a brain storm map of what those words mean to me. Any word that comes to me I write down. Pretty much an artsy doodling session.

2. Create a vision board:

I am definitely not an artist and so what I tend to use is a Pic Collage or Canva (app.) to create my virtual goal poster. Of course, you can just use a good old fashion poster-board. That way every day you are going to be more on purpose and not distracted. What you see, speak out and focus on becomes a reality if you are willing to work towards it.

I like to add in my vision board my goals for these categories…..

Faith

Family

Health

Business

Financial

3. Get a new fresh date book for the year.

I like the ones that show the month and week at a glance. If you check my Instagram feed under “Dacia Daily” you will see the datebooks I love.

4. Find “one word” that will inspire you this year.

There is actually a book called, “The One Word” that I read a few years ago and so every year I pray for the word that God has for me to live out that year. So maybe you are asking how can I find that word? Well you can pray……. it can be sent to you in different ways whether you’re driving by a billboard, it may come to in a dream, it might come to you quickly or it might take a little bit. Once you find the word you might want to find verses or positive statements that support that word. In your quiet time in the morning review those verses.

5. Write out a long bug list.

I’m sure that there’s so many things that are bugging you that maybe you didn’t accomplish in 2018 that you wanted to accomplish this year. Start with the most important to least important. This can be very detailed it can be things for your business, things for your faith, your children, finances, or just things around the house that you feel like having accomplished. What I like to do is look at the things that I can control & delegate the rest especially being a “girl boss” knowing that I can’t do it all.

6. Write out 5 wins for you to have every day.

These would be the same 5 things for every single day.

For example:

Working out

8 glasses of water

Quiet time

Calling 5 team members

Writing 2 encouraging cards a day.

Or

Quiet time for 10 min

Work out for 30 min

Call 5 customers

Prep dinner in the morning

Floss

When you have daily wins and accomplish a lot your confidence rises which is an attractive quality. It just enhances your performance overall!

7. Write out a to do list every single night.

In Mary Kay, we call this the “six most important things” to do list and Mary Kay was known for this. So, every night before you go to bed you write out the six most important things that need to get done in your life, with your business, family or just personal things. That way you wake up being on purpose and more intentional with your day.

8. Think & pray for others.

What do you do with your old Christmas cards that are so beautiful that people spend so much time and money on? What I do is pull out a card a day and during my quiet time I pray for that specific family on that card. I know how much time and energy people spend on pictures and I can never throw out their card, especially being a lover of photography.

9. Do you not get in the habit of being comfortable.

You will start off the year with a bang and with focus and so excited about your new goals. However, as humans after a week or two you know you kind of start getting into a comfortable mindset, “does this really matter, “do I want to finish these goals.” you’ve got to stay strong and that’s where the tough mental game comes in.

10. Give yourself Grace.

Sometimes you will fall off the bandwagon with your goals and dreams. You want to throw in the towel or think that maybe this is not the direction that you’re supposed to go in. I always say the best medicine is to connect with your Lord and Savior. To keep going & putting one foot in front of the other. To take action and through that action the fear will go away; the confidence will come back and you were going to crush some major goals and 2019!

I believe that God created us for BIG things! He is a miraculous God and has done so many incredible things and he created you so keep it going! Now go do some incredible things this year!

    Thank you for some other fantastic article. Where else may just anyone get that kind of information in such an ideal means of writing? I’ve a presentation subsequent week, and I’m at the search for such information.
